2 Months Old!

Well, Avery is two months old today! She had her well baby check up this afternoon and she weighs 12 lbs. 10 oz. and is 23 inches long. She's getting so big! She's also finally hitting that "fun" stage. You know - when they finally start responding to you and smiling back and laughing. It's great.

We've been busy as usual (which is why I haven't posted). Since I last posted we went to Concerts on the Square, Delaney's birthday party (my niece, not Delaney Johnson!), and Olbrich Gardens for the Butterfly exhibit.

Anyway...it's late and I need to feed Avery. And Livi keeps calling me back upstairs (I hate when she takes naps at school - it messes her schedule up so bad!). As always, I'll try to post more often! :)

My Mom is so funny!

Stranded!

Well, it was an interesting morning. We woke Livi up at 7 so she could get ready and get dropped off by Joe on his way to work. Except she doesn't like to go ANYWHERE without her Mommy. Joe literally had to pull her off me and put her in the car. She was screaming and crying. A neighbor a few doors down was looking over - I think he thought she was being abducted.

I went out and gave her another hug goodbye and buckled her in. Then Joe tried to leave. I say tried because his car wouldn't start. Nice. So we finally had Livi all settled down and ready to go and then we had to put her and all her stuff in my car. Which means I don't have a vehicle today.

I was hoping to take Avery to the Dr. or chiropractor today. There's just something that's not quite right with her. I guess I would say she has colic. She's pretty good during the day, although she likes to be held a lot and she gets bored easily. But there's an hour or so at night when she just SCREAMS. At first it was just annoying but now it's apparent that she's in pain. She starts gulping air and gets it stuck in her chest and then gets these painful-sounding burps and hiccups. I feel so bad for her. I don't know why she starts gulping the air to begin with. It's pretty weird to watch.

Anyway...so it's just me and Avery today while Olivia is at preschool. She's going two days a week just to keep some semblance of normalcy while I'm on maternity leave. I think she thinks that I still go to work during the day. If she knew I was just staying home with Avery, she would throw a fit.

Anyway...sorry I don't have any pics today. I know that's the only real reason someone might be reading my blog. Hopefully I'll have something for you tomorrow. Maybe tonight I'll have Joe show me how to download them off the camera and then I won't have to rely on him to post pics.

Avery is (hopefully!) in the middle of her daily 3-hour nap so I'm going to go shower now!
