Three months old!

It's hard to believe, but Avery turned three months old Friday. Time sure does fly by. It flies by even faster when said 3-month-old is no longer screaming an hour a night! I sure am glad my first child wasn't colicky. It's hard enough being a first-time parent, let alone putting up with a fussy baby. At least this time I knew it wouldn't last forever.

The nightly screaming ritual actually stopped about three weeks ago. She still gets a little fussy at night, but it's nothing like it was. I'm sure some of it is her age and some of it is her acid reflux meds. They really do seem to be helping. We can tell if we've forgotten to give it to her. Pretty crazy.

All in all, things are pretty good. I went back to work on the 13th, so that's been a bit of an adjustment. And about two days before I went back, Avery decided it would be fun to start getting up a few times a night. I guess that's what I get for saying she was a good sleeper. Now she's up about 3 times a night and it's taking its toll. I'm tired. I do NOT function well without sleep. I'm sure it's just a phase or something, but MAN am I tired!

Avery rolled over a few times the day before she turned four weeks. But I had put her up on her arms a little, so I didn't really count it. But yesterday when Livi and I got home (Joe's Mom was watching her so Livi and I could have some special time together), she announced that Avery had rolled over all by herself! It would figure that we weren't around to witness it. I put her back on her belly and she actually seemed pretty happy there. Usually she fusses and cries after about a minute. She was on her belly a good 5-7 minutes before she started to get bored and fuss. No rolling over, though. Oh well.

She seems to have discovered that she's in control of her hands and it's pretty cute to watch her amazement. She's really starting to find her thumb and it's so cute. We had been pulling it out and putting a pacifier in, but it's obvious she's going to be a thumb sucker. Aww...I just looked over and she just woke up in her swing and is sucking her thumb! She's so LOUD when she sucks her thumb!

Anyway...that means I have about two more minutes before she starts fussing. These pictures are about 1-2 weeks old. Joe and Livi are camping right now and he has the camera, so I can't download any newer ones. I'll try to update again soon.

Splish, splash I was taking a bath!

Our little star! (She's currently OBSESSED with Hannah Montana!)

I look like a dork you guys!

Don't make me wear this stupid wig!

Watching the Packers. Hey - where's number 4?!

Oh my gosh! That's my hand holding a toy!

Who's that cute baby?!

I feel your pain, Mr. Hippo.

Day with the roomies

So, here's the big visit. Rochelle, Jen, Steph, Misty, their children and Steph's husband Mike came for a visit. Jen lives in Florida and was home visiting so we thought it would be a great opportunity to get together again.

Rochelle has three (!) girls - Ava, Harper and Delaney. Steph has little Jack and Nora. Misty has Keinin and Jen is pregnant with twin girls (!) and due in December. Olivia had a great time with her new best friends Ava and Harper. We girls had a nice time catching up while Mike played lifeguard and Mr. Mom. Thanks, Mike! (not that he'll ever read this...)

Anyway...it's late so I'll just put a few captions in. Enjoy!

Ahh...this is the life!

Hi over there! (Nora is three months older than Avery and Avery is bigger than her!)

Slow down, Livi!

Misty, Steph, Me (hey, let's throw Carrie in the middle so her chest looks even bigger!), Rochelle and Jen.

Ava, Harper and Olivia

Wow! Now that's a big clan! And we were missing our other roommate, Tracy and her new little guy, Sean! Can you tell that Mike was taking the picture? He's like 7 feet tall!

Mike playing lifeguard to all the kids.

I had an awesome time. It was so great to see everyone again and hope that we can try to do it more often. Hopefully Tracy can join us next time.

Love you guys!

Finally!

So...here they are - the pictures I promised you. I'll probably do two posts so I can add the ones of my college roommates and their children. I'm still trying to figure out how the pictures post. You sort of have to know the exact ones you want to use and then go backward. I guess if I posted more often, I wouldn't have this problem.

Yes-I know of the dangers a cat poses to a baby. I was right there, so please - no comments.

Me and Livi in the "Big Shopping Cart" at Smokey Hollow Campground.

Livi took this picture of me and Avery playing on the floor last week.

Getting a drink on a hot day.

Watching TV together. (Yes, our 2-month-old likes to watch TV. Again, no comments please!)
Joe and Avery taking a little snooze after a day of swimming at my sister's.

All dressed up at Joe's parent's house.

She's getting so big! (Taken 8/6)

Anyway...I'll post some more pictures from the day I got to spend with my roomies. Hope you like all the pics!

We're still here!

We've just been very busy.

I promise I will post some pictures on Wednesday.

Things are going well - the girls are great. Avery is getting SO big and she's been smiling and "talking" a lot lately. Livi is still a great big sister. She always wants to give her hugs and she talks "baby" to her and it's adorable!

I might as well just break it to everyone here. We bought a minivan. Yup. I'm one of "those" people. I never thought I'd own one - I thought I could get around it. I couldn't. And I have to say, it's only been a few hours, but I'm much happier. We bought an 08 Town and Country. It has some pretty cool features. Two DVD players, Stow-N-Go seating, MyGIG (some techie-type thing that Joe will have to teach me to use. It can store songs and pictures - it's neat). When we picked Livi up today, we told her we bought a new car and she started yelling, "A new minivan, a new minivan!" You would have thought we told her we were going to Disney World or something!

Anyway...It's been a great last week or so. Avery is sleeping well and that definitely helps. We FINALLY bought Livi new furniture so I have a place to put her clothes other than the nursery. We also FINALLY got some landscaping! It looks great. Now I need to get back to work to pay for all of this stuff!

Some of my old college roommates came to visit last week and we had a great time. I'll post some of those pictures Wednesday.

Hope all is well with everyone!
